Helping You, As An Individual

As an individual therapist, I am influenced by several important schools of psychological perspective, and incorporate different sources of wisdom and growth. One such influence is Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT, an adaptation of CBT), and, also, I draw extensively from elements of psychodynamic, existential and CBT approaches, according to what is most helpful in any given session.  ACT involves a lot of mindfulness, acceptance, tools for dealing with painful thoughts and feelings, and also a focus on leading a life more fulfilling to you personally.  CBT tools can be especially useful for facing fears and problem behaviors.  And psychodynamic approaches, through insight, can help us understand why the past has so many triggers that touch us today, but, promisingly, how we can use this awareness to live more effectively in the present. Existential influences also encourage the pursuit of meaning, identity, purpose, examining and challenging fears, and finding deep fulfillment.
